व॒यं नाम॒ प्रं ब्र॑वामा घृ॒तस्या॒स्मिन् य॒ज्ञे धा॑रयामा॒ नमो॑भिः। उप॑ ब्रह्मा॒ शृ॑णवच्छ॒स्यमा॑नं॒ चतुः॑शृङ्गोऽवमीद् गौ॒रऽए॒तत्॥९०॥

वयन्नाम प्र ब्रवामा घृतस्यास्मिन्यज्ञे धारयामा नमोभिः । उप ब्रह्मा शृणवच्छस्यमानञ्चतुः शृङ्गोवमीद्गौरऽएतत् ॥

वयम्। नाम। प्र। ब्रवाम। घृतस्य। अस्मिन्। यज्ञे। धारयाम। नमोभिरिति नमःऽभिः। उप। ब्रह्मा। शृणवत्। शस्यमानम्। चतुःशृङ्ग इति चतुःऽशृङ्गः। अवमीत्। गौरः। एतत्॥९०॥
Meaning -
He. whose knowledge of the four Vedas is like four horns, who studies and enjoys the Vedas, is perfectly well versed in them all, preaches them to humanity, and listens to their teachings from others, is the praiseworthy embodiment of knowledge. It is our duty to propagate it to others, and act upon it in our domestic life with words of veneration.

Professor Wilson following Sayana wrongly interprets the epithet four horned as, applying to God, who may be called a buffalo as a type of extraordinary strength. Mahidhars interpretation of four horns as four officiating priests is also wide the mark. Four horns is a phrase used figuratively to denote the knowledge of the four vedas by a learned person. Horns are pillars of spiritual knowledge.
