Meaning -
May we ward off all calamities by worshipping God, Who is unchangeable in the past, present and future, chastises the sinners, and is highly benevolent. Just as God makes us better housed, more prosperous, and determined so may we adore Him.

Triyambaka has been translated differently by various commentators, e. g. , free from the threefold sufferings, i e. physical elemental and spiritual, and beyond the reach of time, i. e. , Past, Present and Future, or ruling over the three worlds. Triyambaka is interpreted by Griffith as a name of Rudra as having three wives, sisters or mothers, or Triocular, the Three Eyed God. Rishi Dayanandas interpretation is more rational and significant. He interprets the word as God Who remains unchanged in the Past, Present and Future.
