Acknowledgment
Meaning -
O God, preach unto us more of this purifying . knowledge, imparted by Thee, the Lord of the universe, in the Veda, our holy refuge. Just as an aspirant after fruit shakes a tree foil of ripe fruits, and gets down many of them, so dost Thou, the Preserver of the innermost knowledge, grant for the pleasure of the soul, thousands of the gems of knowledge !
Translator Comment -
$ The Veda has been spoken of is a holy refuge. Just as spiritually advanced persons morality and truth to the pilgrims who visit them, so do the Vedas teach us religion when we approach that in a spirit of reverence considering them as holy scriptures. The words षष्टिं सहस्राः may mean sixty thousand or 1060. I have translated them as thousands.
