ये गर्भा॑ अव॒पद्य॑न्ते॒ जग॒द्यच्चा॑पलु॒प्यते॑। वी॒रा ये तृ॒ह्यन्ते॑ मि॒थो ब्र॑ह्मजा॒या हि॑नस्ति॒ तान् ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठये । गर्भा॑: । अ॒व॒ऽपद्य॑न्ते । जग॑त् । यत् । च॒ । अ॒प॒ऽलु॒प्यते॑ । वी॒रा: । ये । तृ॒ह्यन्ते॑ । मि॒थ: । ब्र॒ह्म॒ऽजा॒या । हि॒न॒स्ति॒ । तान् ॥१७.७॥

ये गर्भा अवपद्यन्ते जगद्यच्चापलुप्यते। वीरा ये तृह्यन्ते मिथो ब्रह्मजाया हिनस्ति तान् ॥

Subject - Effects of lack of our sensibilities towards women
Word Meaning -
Female fetuses that are destroyed bring forth in the society an atmosphere of rampant violence where chivalrous, strong men start violence and fights among themselves. This is seen as the curse of female fetuses destroyed.

It may seem very odd but the lack of sense of their duty is related to social fabric of the society. According to Vedas all the current ills of society are related to the place of honor accorded to women in society.
