सूक्तम् - पृश्नपर्णी सूक्त
शं नो॑ दे॒वी पृ॑श्निप॒र्ण्यशं॒ निरृ॑त्या अकः। उ॒ग्रा हि क॑ण्व॒जम्भ॑नी॒ ताम॑भक्षि॒ सह॑स्वतीम् ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठशम् । न॒: । दे॒वी । पृ॒श्नि॒ऽप॒र्णी । अश॑म् । नि:ऽऋ॑त्यै । अ॒क॒: । उ॒ग्रा । हि । क॒ण्व॒ऽजम्भ॑नी । ताम् । अ॒भ॒क्षि॒ । सह॑स्वतीम् ॥२५.१॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
शं नो देवी पृश्निपर्ण्यशं निरृत्या अकः। उग्रा हि कण्वजम्भनी तामभक्षि सहस्वतीम् ॥

Translation -
God's divine power, that guards the Sun and Earth, brings us joy, and woe to an epidemic. Fierce crusher of sin is she. Her have I adored. [1]

[1] पृश्निपर्णी means the power of God, that guards the Sun and Earth, पृश्निः= सूर्यः, पृथिवी ।३३।६। पर्णीः पिर्ति पालयति. Prishniparni is also the name of a medicine, that removes cholera and other diseases. Its leaves are like the disc of the Sun. Its use cures diseases and grants health and joy. Griffith describes Kanvyas as a class of evil spirits. There is no history in the Vedas. The interpretation is illogical. The word means sin.
