सूक्तम् - आञ्जन सूक्त
यदि॒ वासि॑ त्रैककु॒दं यदि॑ यामु॒नमु॒च्यसे॑। उ॒भे ते॑ भ॒द्रे नाम्नी॒ ताभ्यां॑ नः पाह्याञ्जन ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठयदि॑ । वा॒ । असि॑ । त्रै॒क॒कु॒दम् । यदि॑ । या॒मु॒नम् । उ॒च्यसे॑ । उ॒भे इति॑ । ते॒ । भ॒द्रे इति॑ । नाम्नी॒ इति॑ । ताभ्या॑म् । न॒: । पा॒हि॒ । आ॒ऽअ॒ञ्ज॒न॒ ॥९.१०॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
यदि वासि त्रैककुदं यदि यामुनमुच्यसे। उभे ते भद्रे नाम्नी ताभ्यां नः पाह्याञ्जन ॥
स्वर रहित पद पाठयदि । वा । असि । त्रैककुदम् । यदि । यामुनम् । उच्यसे । उभे इति । ते । भद्रे इति । नाम्नी इति । ताभ्याम् । न: । पाहि । आऽअञ्जन ॥९.१०॥

Translation -
O Knowledge, if thou hast emanated from the three aspects of the Vedas, or proceeded from Yamas and Niyamas, the limbs of Yoga, both thesenames are auspicious by these two protect thou us!

Three aspects: Knowledge,ज्ञान, Action, कर्म, contemplation,उपासना,Yamas: (1) Non-violence (2) Truth (3) Non-stealing (4) Celibacy (5) Non-arrogance. Niyamas: (1) Purity (2) Contentment (3) Austerity (4) Study (5) Resignation to God. Griffith interprets Yamunam as obtained from the river Yamuna, त्रैककुंद as three peaked hill. This interpretation is illogical, as it savors of history in the Vedas, which are free from it.
