अथर्ववेद - काण्ड 6/ सूक्त 131/ मन्त्र 3
यद्धाव॑सि त्रियोज॒नं प॑ञ्चयोज॒नमाश्वि॑नम्। तत॒स्त्वं पुन॒राय॑सि पु॒त्राणां॑ नो असः पि॒ता ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठयत् । धाव॑सि । त्रि॒ऽयो॒ज॒नम् । प॒ञ्च॒ऽयो॒ज॒नम् । आश्वि॑नम् । तत॑: । त्वम् । पुन॑: । आऽअ॑यसि । पु॒त्राणा॑म् । न॒: । अ॒स॒: । पि॒ता ॥१३१.३॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
यद्धावसि त्रियोजनं पञ्चयोजनमाश्विनम्। ततस्त्वं पुनरायसि पुत्राणां नो असः पिता ॥
स्वर रहित पद पाठयत् । धावसि । त्रिऽयोजनम् । पञ्चऽयोजनम् । आश्विनम् । तत: । त्वम् । पुन: । आऽअयसि । पुत्राणाम् । न: । अस: । पिता ॥१३१.३॥

Translation -
If thou goest to a place twelve or twenty miles distant or if thou goest to a far-off place on horseback, thence thou shouldst come back, and be the father of us sons.
Footnote -
A man should go to distant to acquire I learning and amass wealth, but he should not permanently remain absent from home. He should return home to look after his children.
