अथर्ववेद - काण्ड 7/ सूक्त 47/ मन्त्र 1
कु॒हूं दे॒वीं सु॒कृतं॑ विद्म॒नाप॑सम॒स्मिन्य॒ज्ञे सु॒हवा॑ जोहवीमि। सा नो॑ र॒यिं वि॒श्ववा॑रं॒ नि य॑च्छा॒द्ददा॑तु वी॒रं श॒तदा॑यमु॒क्थ्यम् ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठकु॒हूम् । दे॒वीम् । सु॒ऽकृत॑म् । वि॒द्म॒नाऽअ॑पसम् । अ॒स्मिन् । य॒ज्ञे । सु॒ऽहवा॑ । जो॒ह॒वी॒मि॒ । सा । न॒: । र॒यिम् । वि॒श्वऽवार॑म् । नि । य॒च्छा॒त् । ददा॑तु । वी॒रम् । श॒तऽदा॑यम् । उ॒क्थ्य᳡म् ॥४९.१॥

कुहूं देवीं सुकृतं विद्मनापसमस्मिन्यज्ञे सुहवा जोहवीमि। सा नो रयिं विश्ववारं नि यच्छाद्ददातु वीरं शतदायमुक्थ्यम् ॥

Translation -
O woman, who nourishes children, possesses definite, positive knowledge, is praised in manifold ways, and travels in different directions, attains to supremacy. O consort of a hero, thou art offered all nice objects. O woman urge thy husband to bounty.
Footnote -
In this sacrifice (Yajna) with favored cry I call the woman, the doer of noble deeds, the knower of duties, the master of fine traits, and the possessor of extraordinary nature. May she always vouchsafe us highly serviceable wealth, and a charitable praiseworthy heroic son.
