अथर्ववेद - काण्ड 7/ सूक्त 79/ मन्त्र 4
अमा॑वास्ये॒ न त्वदे॒तान्य॒न्यो विश्वा॑ रू॒पाणि॑ परि॒भूर्ज॑जान। यत्का॑मास्ते जुहु॒मस्तन्नो॑ अस्तु व॒यं स्या॑म॒ पत॑यो रयी॒णाम् ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठअमा॑ऽवास्ये । न । त्वत् । ए॒तानि॑ । अ॒न्य: । विश्वा॑ । रू॒पाणि॑ । प॒रि॒ऽभू: । ज॒जा॒न॒ । यत्ऽका॑मा: । ते॒ । जु॒हु॒म: । तत् । न॒: । अ॒स्तु॒ । व॒यम् । स्या॒म॒ । पत॑य: । र॒यी॒णाम् ॥८४.४॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
अमावास्ये न त्वदेतान्यन्यो विश्वा रूपाणि परिभूर्जजान। यत्कामास्ते जुहुमस्तन्नो अस्तु वयं स्याम पतयो रयीणाम् ॥

Translation -
O woman, none besides thee, has the strength to give birth to these children. Give us our heart’s desire when we approach thee. May we be the lords of riches!

Heart’s desire: A nice son. The verse can be interpreted thus also, if we understand ‘Amavasya’ to mean God. O God, none besides Thee, comprehends all these created worlds. Give us our heart’s desire when we invoke Thee. May we be the lords of riches, Sec Rig, 10-121-10 and Yajur, 23-65.
