अ॒यं वां॑ मित्रावरुणा सु॒तः सोम॑ऽऋतावृधा। ममेदि॒ह श्रु॑त॒ꣳ हव॑म्। उ॒प॒या॒मगृ॑हीतोऽसि मि॒त्रावरु॑णाभ्यां त्वा॥९॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठअ॒यम्। वाम्। मि॒त्रा॒व॒रु॒णा॒। सु॒तः। सोमः॑। ऋ॒ता॒वृ॒धेत्यृ॑तऽवृधा। मम॑। इत्। इ॒ह। श्रु॒त॒म्। हव॑म्। उ॒प॒या॒मगृ॑हीत॒ इत्यु॑पया॒मऽगृ॑हीतः। अ॒सि॒। मि॒त्रावरु॑णाभ्याम्। त्वा॒ ॥९॥

अयँवाम्मित्रावरुणा सुतः सोमऽऋतावृधा । ममेदिह श्रुतँ हवम् । उपयामगृहीतोसि मित्रावरुणाभ्यां त्वा ॥

अयम्। वाम्। मित्रावरुणा। सुतः। सोमः। ऋतावृधेत्यृतऽवृधा। मम। इत्। इह। श्रुतम्। हवम्। उपयामगृहीत इत्युपयामऽगृहीतः। असि। मित्रावरुणाभ्याम्। त्वा॥९॥
Meaning -
O student and teacher of yoga, the augmenters of true know, living in unison like the vital breaths the Pran and udan, here is this your accomplished supremacy of yoga, Listen to my praise. O worshipper, thou art endowed with noble traits, I welcome thee, who controls the vital breaths, the Pran and Udan.

Mitra and Varuna are the disciple and teacher. The disciple is spoken of as मित्र and the teacher as वरुण as he dispels the deficiencies and drawbacks of the disciple ; or the teacher may be considered as मित्र being friendly and affectionate to his pupils, and the disciple as वरुण who cultivates virtues and shuns vices.
