ततो॑ वि॒राड॑जायत वि॒राजो॒ऽअधि॒ पूरु॑षः।स जा॒तोऽअत्य॑रिच्यत प॒श्चाद् भूमि॒मथो॑ पु॒रः॥५॥

ततोविराडजायत विराजोऽअधि पूरुषः । स जातोऽअत्यरिच्यत पश्चाद्भूमिमथो पुरः ॥

ततः। विराडिति विऽराट्। अजायत। विराज इति विऽराजः। अधि। पूरुषः। पुरुषऽइति पुरुषः॥ सः। जातः। अति। अरिच्यत। पश्चात्। भूमिम्। अथोऽइत्यथो। पुरः॥५॥
Translation -
From that Cosmic Man, super-luminiscence is born and from superluminiscence again the creative factor is born. Expanding, He exceeds the earth backward and forward both. (1)
Notes -
Virāt, Virāj (Virāt in the nominative case) is said to have come in the form of the mundane egg, from the Adi Puruşa, the primeval Puruşa, or presiding Male or Spirit, who entered into this egg, which He animates as its vital soul or divine princi pal. ' Or, Virāj may be 'the female counterpart of Puruşa, as Aditi of Daksa' in Rv. X. 72. 4-5. (Griffith). विराट् ब्रह्माण्डदेह:, universal form of the God Supreme. Super-luminescence. Virājo adhi pūruṣaḥ, from Virāj again man was born. According to Mahidhara, from the God Supreme (ब्रह्म) Viraj was created and the God Supreme having entered into Virāj was born as soul (जीव).
