सूक्तम् - शतौदनागौ सूक्त
वस॑वस्त्वा दक्षिण॒त उ॑त्त॒रान्म॒रुत॑स्त्वा। आ॑दि॒त्याः प॒श्चाद्गो॑प्स्यन्ति॒ साग्नि॑ष्टो॒ममति॑ द्रव ॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठवस॑व: । त्वा॒ । द॒क्षि॒ण॒त: । उ॒त्त॒रात् । म॒रुत॑: । त्वा॒ । आ॒दि॒त्या: । प॒श्चात् । गो॒प्स्य॒न्ति॒ । सा । अ॒ग्नि॒ऽस्तो॒मम् । अति॑ । द्र॒व॒ ॥९.८॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
वसवस्त्वा दक्षिणत उत्तरान्मरुतस्त्वा। आदित्याः पश्चाद्गोप्स्यन्ति साग्निष्टोममति द्रव ॥

Translation -
May Vasus, the learned who have attained knowledge by keeping up the discipline of celibacy for 24 years, guard it from south, may the Maruth, the learned who have attained knowledge by keeping up the discipline of celibacy for 44years protect it form north and may Adityas the learned who have attained knowledge by keeping up the discipline of continent tor 48 years gurad it from behind or west and let this Shataudana. Shataudana go to the place of Agni-stoma where it is required for Dakshina.
