उ॒खां कृ॑णोतु॒ शक्त्या॑ बा॒हुभ्या॒मदि॑तिर्धि॒या। मा॒ता पु॒त्रं यथो॒पस्थे॒ साग्निं बि॑भर्त्तु॒ गर्भ॒ऽआ। म॒खस्य॒ शिरो॑ऽसि॥५७॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठउ॒खाम्। कृ॒णो॒तु॒। शक्त्या॑। बा॒हुभ्या॒मिति॑ बा॒हुभ्या॑म्। अदि॑तिः। धि॒या। मा॒ता। पु॒त्रम्। यथा॑। उ॒पस्थ॒ इत्यु॒पऽस्थे॑। सा। अ॒ग्निम्। बि॒भ॒र्त्तु॒। गर्भे॑। आ। म॒खस्य॑। शिरः॑। अ॒सि॒ ॥५७ ॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
उखाङ्कृणोतु शक्त्या बाहुभ्यामदितिर्धिया । माता पुत्रँयथोपस्थे साग्निम्बिभर्तु गर्भ आ । मखस्य शिरो सि ॥

उखाम्। कृणोतु। शक्त्या। बाहुभ्यामिति बाहुभ्याम्। अदितिः। धिया। माता। पुत्रम्। यथा। उपस्थ इत्युपऽस्थे। सा। अग्निम्। बिभर्त्तु। गर्भे। आ। मखस्य। शिरः। असि॥५७॥
Translation -
May the Eternity shape the cauldron with her hands, with her strength and with her wisdom and bear the fire in her womb just as a mother bears her son in her lap. (1) O fire, you are the apex of the sacrifice. (2)
Notes -
Ukha, cauldron; a sort of sauce pan; cooking pot; a boiler, Makhasya Sirah, apex of the sacrifice. Makha is a certain mythical being also. Aditi, Eternity. In legend Aditi is the mother of Adityas who are prominent gods.
