यजुर्वेद - अध्याय 13/ मन्त्र 45
योऽ अ॒ग्निर॒ग्नेरध्यजा॑यत॒ शोका॑त् पृथि॒व्याऽ उ॒त वा॑ दि॒वस्परि॑। येन॑ प्र॒जा वि॒श्वक॑र्मा ज॒जान॒ तम॑ग्ने॒ हेडः॒ परि॑ ते वृणक्तु॥४५॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठयः। अ॒ग्निः। अ॒ग्नेः। अधि॑। अजा॑यत। शोका॑त्। पृ॒थि॒व्याः। उ॒त। वा॒। दि॒वः। परि॑। येन॑। प्र॒जा इति॑ प्र॒ऽजाः। वि॒श्वक॒र्मेति॑ वि॒श्वऽक॑र्मा। ज॒जान॑। तम्। अ॒ग्ने॒। हेडः॑। परि॑। ते॒। वृ॒ण॒क्तु॒ ॥४५ ॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
योऽग्निरग्नेरधियजायत शोकात्पृथिव्याऽउत वा दिवस्परि । येन प्रजा विश्वकर्मा जजान तमग्ने हेडः परि ते वृणक्तु ॥

यः। अग्निः। अग्नेः। अधि। अजायत। शोकात्। पृथिव्याः। उत। वा। दिवः। परि। येन। प्रजा इति प्रऽजाः। विश्वकर्मेति विश्वऽकर्मा। जजान। तम्। अग्ने। हेडः। परि। ते। वृणक्तु॥४५॥
Translation -
O adorable Lord, may your displeasure spare the goat (Capricorn) which has been born out of the heat of the earth, as well as from the heat of the sky and with which the supreme Mechanic has created all the animals. (1)
Notes -
This mantra is considered to be referring to a goat, though there is no word to denote it. In the previous three mantras asva, gauh, and avih have been mentioned, therefore aja, goat may be imagined to be referred to here. Agnih, the fire; अग्निरूपोऽज:, goat in the form of fire. The fire, born out of fire. Prthivyah ѕока ша va divah, शोक is heat as well as distress or sorrow: from the heat of the Earth or from the heat of the sky. Visvakarma, प्रजापति: the creator God; ће Lord who is expert in all the jobs; the Supreme Mechanic. Hedah, क्रोध:, anger, displeasure.
