    Meaning -
The subject of this hymn is Bhava-Sharva- Rudra: Integration-disintegration-Reintegration, principle of the process of divine evolution of the world of diversity from the integrated state of Prakrtic equilibrium and mergence of the world of diversity back into the state of integration and equilibrium. Further, Integration-disintegration-Reintegra- tion is a simultaneous process of consumption and creation in the evolutionary process. (Kathopanishad, 1 , 1 , 6 ) The one deity which represents this seemingly dual process in one form is Rudra which, in relation to human experience and response, has a seemingly dual character, being terrible for reasons of disintegration, and benevolent for reasons of creation and re-creation through re-integration. In actuality the deity is one: B hava-S harva-Rudra. O Bhava and Sharva, be kind and gracious, do not assail us, come and protect us. O lords of forms in existence, O lords of living forms, homage of salutations to you. Do not shoot the arrow fixed upon the bow with the string drawn. Pray do not destroy our people and our animals.
