उ॒क्षा स॑मु॒द्रोऽअ॑रु॒णः सु॑प॒र्णः पूर्व॑स्य॒ योनिं॑ पि॒तुरावि॑वेश। मध्ये॑ दि॒वो निहि॑तः॒ पृश्नि॒रश्मा॒ वि च॑क्रमे॒ रज॑सस्पा॒त्यन्तौ॑॥६०॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठउ॒क्षा। स॒मु॒द्रः। अ॒रु॒णः। सु॒प॒र्ण इति॑ सुऽप॒र्णः। पूर्व॑स्य। योनि॑म्। पि॒तुः। आ। वि॒वे॒श॒। मध्ये॑। दि॒वः। निहि॑त॒ इति॒ निऽहि॑तः। पृश्निः॑। अश्मा॑। वि। च॒क्र॒मे॒। रज॑सः। पा॒ति॒। अन्तौ॑ ॥६० ॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
उक्षा समुद्रोऽअरुणः सुपर्णः पूर्वस्य योनिम्पितुराविवेश । मध्ये दिवो निहितः पृश्निरश्मा विचक्रमे रजसस्पात्यन्तौ ॥

उक्षा। समुद्रः। अरुणः। सुपर्ण इति सुऽपर्णः। पूर्वस्य। योनिम्। पितुः। आ। विवेश। मध्ये। दिवः। निहित इति निऽहितः। पृश्निः। अश्मा। वि। चक्रमे। रजसः। पाति। अन्तौ॥६०॥
Translation -
The showerer of rain, the shedder of dew, the radiant and the one of splendid wings such as the sun, has entered the region of the paternal East. The many-tinted and pervading luminary proceeds to both extremities of the firmament, and guards the two limits. (1)
Notes -
Ukṣā, सेचन: वृष्टिद्वारा सेक्ता, showerer; irrigator. Samudraḥ,समुंदंति क्लेदयति य: स:, drencher. Suparnah, शोभनं पर्णं पतनं गमनं यस्य, whose movement is excellent. Also, strong-winged. Pituḥ pūrvasya yonim, in the abode of his father, the East. Or, in the abode of his erstwhile father, the sky. Pṛśnih, विचित्रवर्ण:, of wonderful colour. Rajasaḥ antau, लोकस्य पर्यंतौ, both the ends of the uni verse. लोकत्रयस्य पर्यंतान्, all the limits of all the three worlds, i. e. heaven, earth and pātāla, the hades, or the under world; or the earth, the mid-space and the sky.
