विज्यं॒ धनुः॑ कप॒र्दिनो॒ विश॑ल्यो॒ बाण॑वाँ२ऽउ॒त। अने॑शन्नस्य॒ याऽइष॑वऽआ॒भुर॑स्य निषङ्ग॒धिः॥१०॥
स्वर सहित पद पाठविज्य॒मिति॒ विऽज्य॑म्। धनुः॑। क॒प॒र्द्दिनः॑। विश॑ल्य॒ इति॒ विऽश॑ल्यः। बाण॑वा॒निति॒ बाण॑ऽवान्। उ॒त। अने॑शन्। अ॒स्य॒। याः। इष॑वः। आ॒भुः। अ॒स्य॒। नि॒ष॒ङ्ग॒धिरिति॑ निषङ्ग॒ऽधिः ॥१० ॥
स्वर रहित मन्त्र
विज्यन्धनुः कपर्दिनो विशल्यो वाणवाँऽउत । अनेशन्नस्य याऽइषव आभुरस्य निषङ्गधिः ॥
स्वर रहित पद पाठ
विज्यमिति विऽज्यम्। धनुः। कपर्द्दिनः। विशल्य इति विऽशल्यः। बाणवानिति बाणऽवान्। उत। अनेशन्। अस्य। याः। इषवः। आभुः। अस्य। निषङ्गधिरिति निषङ्गऽधिः॥१०॥
Translation -
May the bow of the terrible punisher, having braided hair, become stringless; may his quiver hold no arrow with pointed head; may all his shafts disappear and may his cabbard, that holds the sword, be empty. (1)
Notes -
Kapardinah, कपर्दो जटाबन्धः, सोऽस्यास्तीति कपर्दी, तस्य, one with braided hair (possessive case). Vijyam, विगतगुणं,from which the string has been removed or loosened. Bāņavān, इषुधि:, the quiver. Visalyaḥ, शररहित:, without any arrows in it; empty. Aneśan, from णश अदर्शने, नश्यन्तु, may disappear. Ābhuḥ, रिक्त:, empty. Nişangadhiḥ, निषंग: खड्गं , स धीयतेऽस्मिन् इति निषंगधि:, nişanga is the sword; in which that is kept, i. e. the cabbard. May his bow be stringless, quiver arrowless, and the cabbard empty. May he put away his weapons.
